ARKRAY is hiring a Field Application Scientist to focus primarily on the ARKRAY dental/oral care products and support R&D, Science, Marketing, Regulatory and other related stakeholders. This role may also require support ARKRAY laboratory and Point of Care IVD instruments and reagents.

ARKRAY is a leading manufacturer of innovative diagnostic and monitoring products including blood glucose monitors, automated urinalysis systems, A1C systems, clinical chemistry instruments, reagents and consumables. Additionally, ARKRAY has developed devices for use in such areas as infectious diseases, dental/oral wellness, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evolve into subject matter expert for ARKRAY Dental/Oral care products
  • Perform evaluative studies/bench studies of current ARKRAY diagnostic products, new products and competitive products for institutional use/knowledge or to gain regulatory approval (510k and CLIA Waiver).
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of product measurements and the market.
  • Work with R&D and dental healthcare professionals to understand the relationship between product measurements and clinical relevance.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with collaborators and KOL's in dental field to develop white papers, design usability and other studies, support with activities related scientific promotion of the device, etc.
  • Provide timely and accurate information on product technology and performance related questions coming from various internal and external customers.
  • Support with troubleshooting ARKRAY products, processes, and customer complaints.
  • Work with Marketing and other team members to assist with in-field support, development of materials for the website, abstracts and posters, etc.
  • Prepare and perform necessary bench studies; support with product labeling changes; etc.

 Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of a BS in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in the medical device industry, preferably in dental hygiene.
  • Dental Hygienist/Assistant or related experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and programming of templates for handling laboratory and clinical data.
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time.
  • Ability to work well inter-culturally with representatives from Japan.
