ARKRAY is currently looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor/ Equipment Systems Technician- 2nd Shift to perform supervisory duties while serving as the primary service technician for equipment and facility needs on second shift

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the in-house production of medical devices (components through finished product). Maintains, monitors, and regulates production schedules and effectively communicates progress to the production staff.
  • Provides equipment and facilities support, under direction of Equipment Systems Manager, by performing planned (PM and calibration) and unplanned maintenance activities and special projects. Effectively communicates and provides nightly turnover notes with 1st shift.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises all personnel as deemed necessary by management to maximize production efficiency. Anticipates staffing problems and is able to resolve problems to minimize their effect on production.
  • Assures manufacturing and maintenance areas are kept safe, clean, and organized.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing Manager, Equipment Systems, Quality Control, and other related departments regarding product and process issues, such as nonconforming products, deviated products, and quality improvement programs.
  • Monitors and maintains spare parts inventory.
  • Continues to acquire further knowledge of the existing equipment and newly acquired equipment through classes and self-study (reading manuals, internet research, etc.)
  • Coordinate physical movements and locations of raw material within manufacturing areas.
  • Reviews and updates all required production documentation. Assures documentation is controlled on production floor at all times.
  • Responsible for relieving inventory from the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Assures that all device history information is recorded correctly for all manufactured parts and subassemblies
  • Assures that all required employee documentation is completed and filed for easy access.
  • Reviews and communicates performance standards with the production staff. Is responsible for evaluating individual employee performance, coaching employees, and recommending wage increases, promotions, or disciplinary action if necessary.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Manufacturing background and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Capable of troubleshooting electronic systems and should have a working knowledge of pneumatics.
  • A two-year Associate's or technical degree is preferred.
  • Two years' prior experience in a production/assembly environment is required.
  • Three years' lead technician or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a medical device or a medical diagnostic products industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computers.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 70lbs daily and 100lbs on occasion.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing setting performing general maintenance.
  • Able to wear safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, hair nets, hearing protection.
